Cycle to Work Scheme

What is the cycle to work scheme?

The cycle to work scheme is an employee benefit that enables working adults to save 25-39% (often more) on the cost of a bike and/or cycling accessories. You can calculate your potential savings here.

Savings are generated by employees paying for their bike and/or accessories from their pre-tax salary (i.e. before tax is assessed or deducted). Obtaining the bike in this way reduces employees' taxable income and creates a tax saving.

How cycle scheme purchases work?

To purchase using the cycle scheme requires you to apply for a cycle scheme certificate with your employers HR department through the companies chosen cycle scheme provider. Upon receipt of certificate or letter of collection, forward this onto our team at Edinburgh Bike Fitting who will apply to your chosen order.

Can I participate in the cycle to work scheme?

To participate in the scheme you must receive your salary via the Pay As You Earn (PAYE) and be a working adult aged 16 or over. Your employer needs to be signed up and your earnings should be more than the National Living Wage (NLW) or National Minimum Wage (NMW) after the salary sacrifice is taken from your gross salary.

How do I get a quote for my employer?

For those employers who require a quote for cycle scheme purchases, send us an email or give us a call to discuss your chosen build. We will then email you your bike quote.
