The MXZ305 is an evolution in Lakes full winter boot. Compared to the older 304 it simplifies the process of fit by reducing the number of lasts and offers riders a wider forefoot and more secure heel compared to the older model
Ideal temperature rating 7°F to 45°F / -14°C to 7°C - boot is also water resistant, not waterproof and its recommended you apply a hydrophobic coating spray every 2 - 3 wet rides.
Because the MXZ305 uses a highly breathable leather upper and temperature-regulating, wicking lining, sweat is transferred away from the foot so that it does not freeze against it, keeping your foot comfortable. The MXZ305 is the fifth generation of that legacy and continues to be the best of the best as the top winter-specific cycling shoe of choice.
Sizing Suggestion: For use with winter weight socks we recommend ordering 1-1.5 sizes up from your usual Lake Cycling shoe size.

Winter Extreme Last
This last features our largest & tallest toe-box for ultimate insulation in extreme winter conditions. The Winter Extreme last allows the foot to maintain proper circulation even when thicker socks are worn. What's unique about our last is the cycling specific heel, instep and arch shape that still maintain proper conforming fit to keep your foot securely in place while riding or walking without the need to over tighten. Our Winter Extreme last continues to forge ahead to comfort and warmth for winter cycling footwear.
Sole
The MXZ305 is built on our Ultra Bomb-Proof Enduro Sole with anti-slip lug inserts. The rubber sole features glass-injected tread inserts, which are vertically injected micro glass fibers that grip virtually all surfaces. This outer tread is built around our SPD (MTB cleat) compatible fiberglass-injected nylon outsole. What really makes Lake’s nylon sole world- famous is its uncompromising comfort and performance. No other injection-molded nylon sole offers the same level of stiffness or comfort. This combination gives you an all conditions cycling shoe that is sure-footed and stable in any situation.
Upper
The MXZ305 features American full-grain, water-resistant leather upper combined with a German Helcor abrasion- and water-resistant leather toe protector, ensuring durability, comfort, and longevity. The leather’s superior cold-weather properties and natural breathability maintain warmth and dryness. The leather over-flap keeps snow and debris out, protecting your feet from the cold. Lined with Outlast temperature-regulating material, it maintains a constant foot temperature and wicks moisture away. Additionally, 200 grams of Thinsulate insulation provide a breathable, insulating barrier that keeps your feet dry and warm.
Closure
