How a Bike Fit runs

You'll see and feel every adjustment as we make it, and we'll tell you why we're making it.

Step 1

Off the bike

We find out what's holding you back before we touch the bike: an off-bike assessment of your mobility, strength, and movement patterns.

Step 2

On the bike, measured

3D motion capture (STT Systems Cycling 3DMA) tracks how your joints move while you pedal, and saddle pressure mapping (Gebiomized) shows where you sit. Every adjustment is based on data as well as feel.

Step 3

Coaching on the bike

Guided on-bike coaching builds the feel for your new position, so you can find it again yourself.

Step 4

What you take home

Any remaining limits named, with mobility work to do at home. Cleats and shoes sorted, and a follow-up within six months included.

Sometimes a Standard fit works better split in two. On a Standard Bike Fit, if you need time to work on a physical limit, or the bike needs work first, we'll split it into two appointments at no extra cost.

Your fitters

All three use the same protocol and equipment. Standard fits are with Sam or Urte, and Premium is with Dougie.

Dougie Shaw, owner and lead fitter

Common questions

Standard or Premium: which is right for me?

Most riders start with Standard. Premium suits riders who want 3D and pressure mapping guaranteed at both sessions, and custom insoles. Not sure? Ask us and we'll help you choose.

What do I need to bring?

Bring the bike, shoes, and kit you actually ride in. We fit you to how you ride, so wear what you'd wear on a normal ride.

I'm buying a bike. Is this the right fit?

A Bike Fit is for the bike you already own. If you're buying, a Pre-Purchase Bike Fit gives you your numbers and a report first.

What if I need to cancel?

Life happens, and we understand. You can rebook your fit as long as you give us notice.

What if I get a fit and there is still an issue?

We take care of you. If you need one, a follow-up within six months is included with a Bike Fit. If something still isn't right, tell us and we'll work through it with you. We also have a Redial service: if it has been a year or more and your fit needs adjusting, we can refine it. Send us a message to talk it over.
